Join The Inspectors Of Elections

Instructions to applicants-
Thank you for your interest in becoming an Independent Contractor Consultant for The Inspectors of Election (TIE). As part of the selection process, we use this application to help us assess your skills, abilities, education, and other criteria pertinent to your selection and opportunities for the best placement on a TIE project. Please review the application before you begin. After you have reviewed the application, complete all the information requested in each section. Applications that are incomplete will not be given further consideration.

Please include your resume with your application. However, the application for consideration as a Consultant must still be completed (Do not put “see resume” on your application. Complete the information as requested.

All materials submitted as part of your application packet become the property of TIE and will not be returned. Should you need further description of the service areas, please contact us as indicated below.

What Happens After You Submit Your Application?
All Consultant applications are reviewed for minimum qualifications for the individual service positions. From the applicant pool, we will select the best candidates for interviews. We may administer a written test to determine knowledge in specific areas.

We may select you as a Consultant for one service position on a project and ask that you start in another so we can see your work with TIE clients prior to offering engagements at another service position. Upon selection as a TIE Consultant, each Consultant will be required to provide TIE with a W-9 and sign an Independent Contractor Agreement.

TIE is a specialized service company in the CID industry. Its services are project related and there is no guarantee to any Consultant of the number of assignment that the Consultants may perform for TIE.

CRITERIA REQUIRED FOR EACH OF THE POSITIONS AVAILABLE WITH TIE.

You must meet the minimum criteria for each of the positions listed. Please review these carefully prior to marking the work areas you wish to perform as noted below:

1. Chief Inspector of Election:

Duties: The Chief Inspector of Election will hold full responsibility for the election. They  will oversee the election process from its beginning and execute the certification of the election. They will supervise all other consultants in the performance of their duties for the assignment.

Criteria: This individual must have a minimum of five years in the CID Management Business and be certified in CA as a Community Manager. This individual must have performed a minimum of 15 elections of community associations in CA. A full understanding of the concepts of CID governing documents and the civil code as it relates to elections is required. A test may be required to be taken and a passing grade of 70% or better must be achieved.

2. Assistant Inspector of Election:

Duties: The Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the registration, counting, and verification of the count of the election. They will support the Chief Inspector of Election as directed.

Criteria: This individual must have a minimum of two years in the CID Management Business and be certified in CA as a Community Manager. The individual must have assisted or administered at least 5 elections of community associations in CA. A working knowledge of CID governing documents and the civil code is required. A test may be required. A passing grade of 60% or better must be achieved.

3. Election Tally Staff:

Duties: This individual will provide support to the Inspectors of Election by opening envelopes, verifying ownership, counting ballots, and other duties as may be required by the Inspectors.

Criteria: This individual must be prepared to sit for long periods, perform clerical and secretarial duties, and have good penmanship, English language skills and be able to multi-task and be calm under high stress events.

4. Data Entry Staff:

Duties: The Data Entry Consultant will be assisting in the electronic counting of ballots and election documents.

Criteria: This Consultant must have performed data entry of similar formats; be skilled in Excel and Access and perform data entry at a minimum of 60 WPM. This consultant will be required to sit and keyboard for long periods.

I understand that, as a condition of my engagement as a Consultant for TIE, I shall be required to enter into an Independent Contractor Agreement, which will, among other things, include an agreement to mediate all disputes arising out of my engagement or the termination of my Agreement.

I further certify that I, the undersigned applicant, have personally completed this application. I understand that any omission or misstatement of material fact on this application or on any document used to secure a Consulting Agreement shall be grounds for rejection of this application or for immediate termination of the agreement, regardless of the time elapsed before discovery.
